Prioritizing the ME in Mental Health is a webinar series hosted by Hearts Connected to support child life professionals by offering a space to discuss topics related to mental health. We are excited to host our next event with guest speaker, Michelle Dixon. Michelle Dixon has worked as an Art Therapist for over 12 years within hospital settings, family violence, and community art programs. Five years ago, Michelle established the first art therapy program for children in Qatar and has since published numerous articles related to the experience. Michelle will share her insight into how creating art as an adult can help build resilience, creating a learning experience of how to work with your inner critic to explore emotions. OBJECTIVES: 1. Describe the concept of Art Therapy 2. Identify how to use different art materials for self-expression 3. Review research related to self-care and creativity 4.
